Medical History is devoted to publishing all aspects of the history of medicine, health and related sciences, with the goal of broadening and deepening the understanding of the field, in the widest sense, by historical studies of the highest quality. We aim to publish outstanding and innovative papers on the history of public health, medicine and science worldwide.
The journal aims to showcase new approaches to writing about the connected histories of health and medicine, humanitarianism, and global economic and social development. The researchers in the field of history of medicine are encouraged to submit historical articles in the whole fields of medical sciences from ancient to Contemporaneous periods.
The journal welcomes submissions from all regions and covering all eras of the history of medicine and health, including social history, cultural history, the history of ideas, material studies, science and technology studies, microstudies, ethnological and environmental approaches.
The Department of Medical History is an open access, peer-reviewed segment of The Gazette of Medical Sciences which will publish original articles, review articles, reviews and perspectives, including regional or national focus articles revealing diagnosed medical conditions, past medical conditions, and potential future health risks for the patient. Interspersed with our regular issues, we will also publish special issues on different aspects of the medical history leading to an accurate differential diagnosis and optimal patient outcomes.
