The Department of Oral and Craniofacial Science publishes peer-reviewed Open Access papers focusing on all aspects of oral science and interdisciplinary fields, including basic, applied and clinical research.
The objective of Department of Oral and Craniofacial Science is to publish research, review, case reports, opinions and short communications highlighting diseases, injuries and defects in the head, neck, face, jaws and the hard and soft tissues of the mouth and jaws and face region; diagnosis and medical management of diseases specific to the orofacial tissues and of oral manifestations of systemic diseases; studies on identifying populations at risk of oral disease or in need of specific care, and comparing regional, environmental, social, and access similarities and differences in dental care between populations; diseases of the mouth and related structures like salivary glands, temporomandibular joints, facial muscles and perioral skin. The Editors actively encourages Clinical aspects of basic research and trials that will have an impact on the understanding of health and disease. Case reports, focused research on a broad range of disciplines as well as experimental papers may be submitted. Besides, authors may contribute short reviews (by invitation from the Editor) and letters to the editor. This journal adheres to the policies recommended by The Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
